We have finally had some sustained rain here in Hull. I know that there has not been any sort of drought, but neither has there been much int he way of rain over the last few weeks. I suspect that is why the Carrots and beetroot are not progressing as well as they could be. [...]
I have been pleasantly surprised at how popular my armature attempts at videos have been. They have received over 1500 views on YouTube and several comments. Some of the discussion I have had as a result of the videos has been very useful. I hope to keep producing them mainly for me to keep a [...]
The LandShare website has just gone live. It is a project started by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Channel 4. The idea is that if you have some land to share, you can post it on the site, if you are looking for land to use as an allotment or market garden you can search for plots [...]

I picked the first produce from the allotment this weekend. The first of the Rhubarb! We then had Rhubarb and custard for pudding, can it get any better? I am keeping a record of everything that I both plant and harvest from the allotment. This first crop was a modest 350 grams but plenty for [...]
The weekend just gone was the first day back on the allotment following our holiday and Evas birthday. The progress on the allotment is very exciting. The Rhubarb is motoring along, Mange Tout is coming through, the first rows of early potatoes are showing through, the rows of carrots, beetroot and parsnips are coming along. [...]
