We have finally had some sustained rain here in Hull. I know that there has not been any sort of drought, but neither has there been much int he way of rain over the last few weeks. I suspect that is why the Carrots and beetroot are not progressing as well as they could be.
I have been using water from the water butts, one is already very low. Unfortunately only one is filled from the garage roof, the other is just open. I tend to take water from both, but then use the one which is filled from the roof to keep the other topped up, thus making maximum space to utilize when it rains.
Eventually I want to setup another that is filled from the roof, you can get cut off valves so you can fill two butts from one drain pipe, when one is full it will flow over to the other.
The problem I have is that I have no water supply at the plot other than what I can collect or transport, so we will have to see how it goes.
