First Strawberry!

I picked the first strawberry from the allotment today, we shared half each, tasted absolutely fantastic! The experiment with the victorian cloches has clearly worked, the three plants that are under the cloches were the last to be planted, and these are the ones that the fruit is largest and ripening.

Its bank holiday Sunday and everything on the allotment is blooming. It is a glorious day, blue sky and the world could not be better! Have a look at my quick video of the progress

Another use for take-away tubs

Another tip that I have found is to use takeaway tubs to store your seed packets when going to and fro from the allotment. It keeps them all together and most importantly keeps them dry even if the weather isn’t that great!

This is the pack that I will not go to the allotment without… A Flask of Coffee and a snack! Of course I always have my camera as well!
